It's called the mountain of the Thumb and also means 'the best', or the entrance of Cheonhojibeol. A folk tale has been passed down regarding the mountain from unknown times so called 'Yong Wang San'. Because it's located at the eastern end of Yangcheon District, it's the place many residents pray for their wish while watching the sunrise every year. It is also a popular place for exercising, rest & meeting not only on weekends but on weekdays because the Mokdong APT & residential streets are nearby. At the top of the mountain, man-made grass fields, outdoor stage, badminton court, finger-pressure walks are installed along with various sporting equipment of the latest model everywhere.

Most mountains in the Yangcheon District are generally round-shaped, however, Kal San has a long & steep slope in the eastern part like a cliff owing to long periods of erosion of the Anyang creek and its top is shaped like the blade of a knife which is why it is called Kal San. At the entrance, Children's Traffic Park is constructed and the Central Plaza, walks & Pagoda are installed as resting places at the mid-slope. And the observatory is installed at the top, to view Yangcheon.

Jiyang san forms the boundary with Bucheon City to the west of Yangcheon Gu. In the old days, the highest peak in the northern direction from the Western Truck Terminal was called Dae Dong San and the southern side of it was called Yeonuigol owing to its shape like a lotus flower. Walks of Jiyang San keep its nature as it is without any development to allow residents to enjoy the forest path in addition to the walking contest of Yangcheon people every year.

From May to November, a forest travel program is operated on weekends with the season theme. Forest travel at Sinjeong San is composed of programs centered on experiencing activities including investigating the features of the trees in the forest, observing animals & plants living together with trees & collecting wild edible greens guided by a forest expert (Commentator on the forest). And it gives a good chance to join with nature & recharge the body & mind escaping from every day life for free.
